Losing a loved one, where do you start? Why did it happen?
Did you see the signs or were you blind-sided? How do you cope? It's been over six years for me, as I struggle to find the words, all I can do is grieve!
My heart is broken, I lost my daughter, she was 20 at that time, on August 16 of this year 2024, she would have been 27 years old, and I miss her.
When you lose a child, it doesn't matter why they are gone, anyone who loses a child most likely will find it to be the worst experience of there life. I found my experience to be this as well.
I find it very difficult to cope with her death, she lives in our hearts, minds and memories. I am saddened, she is not here with me, our time together was taken from us.
I want to do something about it, so let me be clear. The human condition known as Addiction is what I am referring to
and all the tragic and senseless suffering anguish and death that seems to accompany it.
So, if it all seems hopeless, overwhelming and impossible, I'm right there with you.
I am the founder of Citizens United Against Addiction. For me personally starting CUAA has been a coping mechanism.
I have a relative who I confide in and she put it best when she said, "if it saves one person, it's worth it". I have to assume she was talking about me.
